The Beauty in New Beginnings

Finding the beauty in new beginnings is something I’ve always been great at. Do you know what’s so marvelous about starting something new? It’s like hitting the reset button. I’m over the moon to be starting a new career in January! It’s in a similar industry to what I was doing before but in many ways, it will be completely new. And I’m ok with that. In fact, I welcome it! 2020 has been the absolute pits for us and so many others. It’s time to kiss it goodbye (and good riddance). I’m so very thankful for the journey that was 2020 but let’s get on with our lives.

In honor of this new beginning, I got a hair cut. I seem to do that every time I have a major life change. It’s part of the process I go through when grieving what was and embracing what is to come!

Not only is this new career a new beginning for me but it’s also the beginning of a brand new chapter in our lives. You see, it was never our intention to stay in Wisconsin. Now that I have a remote position, we can finally explore the possibility of moving basically anywhere in the US that we want. So now, the research begins.

Texas vs Tennessee

We have narrowed it down to these two states. Since we didn’t fall in love with Wisconsin, we want to make extra sure we are happy with our next and hopefully final destination. So will it be Texas or Tennessee? 🤠

Texas brings a familiarity to me. It’s got that country vibe that I remember from growing up visiting my grandparents in (what used to be) rural Clovis, CA. Sprawling yellow and tan grasses with an occasional tree. Hay bails galore and big trucks blaring your favorite songs. That’s how Texas feels to me.

Tennessee gives me a sense of adventure. Lush green rolling hills, people with Southern Charm, tons of cultural events and outdoorsy activities. But I’ve only spent a few days there. How could I really know what it’s like?

We plan to take an exploratory trip to both states over the next few months. I can’t think of a better way to get to know our target cities than to actually be there in person! Hopefully, these trips will bring clarity to our very torn hearts.

Final Thoughts

As we prepare for our next chapter, I keep one thing on my mind….what is GOD’s plan? I’m sure he will reveal his plan day-by-day, week-by-week. We will continue to pray that he guides us in the direction HE wants for our next adventure. Please reach out if you have any must see’s for our trips to the Dallas and Nashville areas.

It truly is the most wonderful time of the year and I’ll be spending precious time with my hubs and little cutie. 🎄 Wishing you the Merriest Christmas and Happy New Year! I’ll be back after the new year. Follow me for more whimsical heart stories.

Here’s to new beginnings! 🥂

Congrats on the new work beginnings, new hair, and new destination!

You all might consider the food and weather options Tennessee has to offer; the property taxes in Texas will be the death of ya (closes eyes).
