Team building, events & parties, Oh My!
This girl loves a good party, who doesn’t? Not only do I love parties, I especially love to plan them. And I’m pretty good at it if I do say so myself. 😉 Heck, I’d do it professionally if I thought I could make a real living from it. Party planning allows me the creative outlet that I wouldn’t otherwise experience in my current career. It’s cathartic but sometimes I can get borderline obsessive. Hey, I’m a 0 – 60 mph kind of gal!
Ha!
Among my favorite planned parties, the ones for my loved ones are my favorite. There is just something about making dreams come to life that inspires me so much. From baby showers and 1st birthday parties to bridal showers and milestone parties, they all make me giddy. Some of my favorites are shown below. I put my heart and soul into creating these events and I hope it shows.
The funny part about how much I love parties is that I love to plan them and be in charge but I don’t like to be the recipient. Which is odd considering I’m an extremely social person. I attribute that to my desire to make people happy and celebrate them (and I like to control the situation). 🙂
I was recently deemed social coordinator of my group at work and I don’t mind that title at all. I’m always pushing for more social engagement among my co-workers and other staff members. Celebrate the wins! We must celebrate the wins or else, why are we even doing it?!
Since I acquired that title, I have created, planned and executed multiple team-building events and activities such as a gingerbread house competition and an Ax Throwing afternoon.
Over my adult life, I have planned some pretty fun parties but I’m not all fun and games. I’ve done some really pro events too! Once, I planned an entire sales conference for over 400 people. Talk about an accomplishment! That was hard work but I learned so much along the way. Such as logistics, working with vendors and having multiple stakeholders. I did this all while in the worst pain of my life — I’ll tell ya’ll about that in another post.
While event planning isn’t my profession, if you want to hire me, I’ll certainly do it! As you can see, I have the chops. Or if you just want some advice, I can help with that too. Drop a comment or connect with me on the contact page. Follow me for more whimsical heart stories.

You ARE a great party planner, Christy! The gingerbread house competition was my favorite team-building event at work. It took the right amount of time, you had all the right candy accessories, and it was just cute af. You’ve got a steady stream of positive energy flowing through you, lady. 🙂
Thank you for the compliment! Looking forward to planning more team building events.
